ice…on branches

I don’t know what its technically called.  I don’t understand the science of it, I just know it shows up when it’s cold enough.  And when it shows up on everything, it’s what gives everything that ‘winter wonderland’ look.  It’s what makes the trees glisten in the sun.

I know most of us have seen ice frozen on branches of a tree, but when it’s everywhere and all around you, it’s bright, still, quiet…and a little bit breathtaking.

…and sometimes even the moisture in the air itself is freezing and there are sparkles all around you, if you’re looking.

Not that I’m not hankering for a little spring…but this, this I don’t want to take for granted…
