resurrection eggs…blue

They’re called resurrection eggs.  It’s a fun way to go through the Easter story with kiddos.  Some people hide all the eggs on Easter and go through the story that one morning, but still having little kiddos it works best for us to go through one day at a time leading up to Easter.

Each day I hide an egg and they have to find it.  Once they do, I read a short portion of the Easter story from the Bible and then we open the egg, discover what’s inside and talk about how it relates to the story.

Yesterday’s egg was blue…

we read Matthew 21:1b-3, 6-8.

There was a little donkey inside…like the one that Jesus rode into the city…as royalty, with all of the people cheering him on, putting their coats and palms on the road before him, believing him to be the king who has come to save them.
