Yesterday was a crisp, spring, sunny day. It was quiet and nice. We had been watching and watching the snow disappear in our backyard…again. Yesterday, I was able to open up the back door and they flew out and played outside. We need to do some cleaning up and there is still a bit of snow…and plenty of mud but it was outside and fresh air and fun.
When Ethan woke up, we headed to a little place pretty close to home- actually on the north side of one of the “three hills”.
It’s called Guzoo…and it’s an eclectic little animal place.
It has cages of all sorts of animals…and yesterday plenty of mud. We’re talking monkeys, exotic birds, camels, bison, a tiger as well as raccoons, foxes, goats, pigs, geese and more. I have never been so close to african lions and couldn’t help but think that if this cat wanted to eat my child it could probably figure a way through these two chain link fences.
You grab a bag of bread and you are able to feed some of the animals…
My favorite part was when they started pretending that they were ‘zoo’ workers and they began discussing the condition of each animal.
But this was the absolute hit and it really was so cute… my baby holding babies.
and my other baby doing this at the baby.
This was more to her liking…
and that was with the really scary bunnies. On the other hand, by the end of our time there, Samara was asking permission to jump into the goat pen and pet the baby goats. ummm…no. Ethan got a turn too…
Today it’s rainy, cloudy and we have designated it a house day which means I am making myself tend to laundry, general domestication and to give good head-on focus to the whining that has seemed to have taken over.
