singing and shining…

One of the greatest things that I have found with small towns, colleges, churches, whatever are the people who stand out in them.  It is always people who propel any of these institutions forward but if they are small and intimate, these people just shine.

For example, there may be just a small library, but because there’s an Auntie Lois in town that is a retired teacher and loves kids in that beautiful way, the town library has the best kids’ reading time EVER!

Sammi goes to Awana…

There is a woman…she works in produce at the local grocery store…she lives on my street and redid the outside of her house this summer…and on Tues. nights she sets up her speakers and leads the kids in songs and motions before the small program even starts (and probably more than that but I’m just not around to see it).  She shines like a star.   All I know is that Sammi, by her own words, thinks it’s awesome and loves it…

“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness, ” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”  II Cor. 4:6

  1. This seems to all come so naturally for her. Of course, you cannot overlook the wonderful coaching she gets at home.
